The dreadnought guitar was named in the early 20th century after the British battleship H.M.S. Dreadnought’s big fat underbelly. The guitar’s deeper body and round “shoulders” emphasize the bass frequencies of the instrument producing what some call the signature sound of the bluegrass genre including the “newgrass” hybrids heard today from so many bands.

The LD-100S is a guitar player’s guitar, a traditional dreadnought, complete with a solid spruce top and mahogany body for better volume and projection and all the time-honored appointments you’d expect like a classic “O” style rosette and multi-layer binding.
